Shane told about how one night while running before a show he sensed the Devil bring up a Bible verse he had read that morning from Galatians 3:10: All who rely on observing the law are under a curse, for it is written “cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.” He was overwhelmed with a sense of discouragement and guilt. But the Holy Spirit took over and reminded him that the passage didn’t stop there, for in Galatians 3:13 it says: Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written “cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.”

Shane got back from his run and wrote a song about this experience in which the Devil tried to tear him apart with God’s own scripture, but ended up preaching the Gospel to him unknowingly. We are at times reminded of our failures by the Father of Lies, but we must fight through and and remember that Jesus paid it all- there is nothing we can do to earn our salvation. The most powerful part of the song says: The devil’s singing over me an age old song, that I am cursed and gone astray,singing the first verse so conveniently over me, but he’s forgotten the refrain.....
